Hello LAF Fans,
I hope all of you are having a great year so far. I have participated in 23 fair days so far this year and each day has been a blast! In addition to participating in 20 event days in the lovely MKE area, I have also have participated in a few events in Illinois, bringing my "Mobile Jewelry Gallery" to Grayslake, Hinsdale, and most recently Chicago! (See the blog photo).
I am now focusing on my small business full time and it has been a blast. It is so true when they say that the first 5 years of owning a small business is extremely hard because you are building experience and learning what to do (and not to do). You also need that time to grow friendships with others in your industry who will help you grow as well.
One example of having great friends help me this year was when I almost had my tent blow away one night after I closed up and headed out. However, my good friends, James and Heidi and Jaime and Scott who had a tent next to me at the fair saw my tent start to blow away and they grabbed it and held it down in the POURING rain and called me to run back and help them hold it down until the gusts of wind stopped. Thank goodness for them, because if not, I would have returned in the morning to a complete disaster. I am so thankful for their help and support and am always doing my best to help and support other artists and makers grow their business too. I hope to share more frequently. I will do my best, but that is all for now.
Thank you for reading!
